Freemasons have always supported local, National and International charities
How Freemasons Raise Money and Support Their Community.
Freemasons’ lodges raise money through member donations at Masonic meetings, as well as through various engaging fundraising activities.
These include raffles held at their regular gatherings, larger raffles at annual charitable events like community fayres and fetes, and at lively social occasions such as golf days or an annual gala evening.
This diverse approach ensures a steady flow of funds.
Each lodge also has a dedicated almoner, whose vital role is to maintain open communication channels with brethren (and their families), both present and past.
This ensures that comprehensive support – both emotional and financial – is readily available to all those in times of need, reflecting Freemasonry’s commitment to caring for its members.
TLC Surrey
Our Lodge in Redhill, Surrey is a long-term supporter of Teddies for Loving Care. A charity run by Freemasons that places teddy bears in all Emergency Departments in Surrey Hospital

Box Hill Lodge and Charity
Box Hill Lodge has always been a keen supporter of local and provincial charities and over the years, we have donated to many good causes such as
– Shannon Court, Masonic Care Home in Hindhead. We are a Grand Patron
– St Christopher’s Hospice in Orpington and Sydenham
– Hadley Court military rehabilitation centre
– The special baby unit at Epsom hospital
– The Children’s Trust Tadworth (special equipment for brain injured children)
– Help for Heroes
– Alzheimer’s Society
We have received Bronze and Silver medals for our contributions to several Masonic Festivals.
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF)
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF), the Freemasons’ Charity, builds better lives by encouraging opportunity, promoting independence and improving life for Freemasons, their families and the wider community.
Funded entirely through the generosity of Freemasons and their families, the MCF helps to improve the lives of thousands of people every year in England, Wales and overseas by working in partnership with some of the country’s biggest charities as well as local causes across England and Wales.
The MCF also helps to fund the vital work of hospices, funds medical research and regularly contributes to appeals for humanitarian or disaster relief worldwide.
The MCF aims to be a force for good by providing support, care and services to Freemasons and their families in need and supporting other charities to help the most disadvantaged people in society.
